At Bard Optical, we feel that being an active business in our communities means the giving of ourselves. Starting late 2009, Bard employees began making commitments to organizations within these communities in the form of donations and volunteerism.

Eligibility
To be eligible for this program, the student must meet the following criteria:
- Age 13 and under
- Family has no private optical insurance benefits for glasses
Each participating district will identify eligible students to participate in the program.
Vouchers
Once a student has been identified, the contact person should send an email to Jane Scott at marketingdept@bardoptical.com with the following information:

Upon receipt of this information, Jane will forward to you a voucher to be delivered to the student. We recommend that you also call the parent/guardian to let them know the voucher was delivered. The voucher will provide each eligible student with one pair of free glasses. If the student does not already have a current prescription or access to a free eye health examination from private insurance or other benefits from the Illinois Department of Heathcare and Family Services, Bard Optical will also provide the examination at no charge. The frames covered by this voucher will be from a special selection and the lenses will be made of Polycarbonate, the safest material on the market.
Each voucher will be numbered and limited in use to only the selected student. The voucher will have the address and telephone number of the Bard Optical office that the parent/guardian should contact to set the appointment. We will track the voucher and monitor whether it has been used. Our goal is to have the glasses in the hands of the student within a few weeks.
At the conclusion of the program we can forward a copy of a report showing each selected student and the date the glasses were delivered.
