How We’re Serving Our Community

For nearly 80 years our focus has been on making decisions “for the patient.” It was with our patients’ best interests in mind that we recently made the difficult decision to suspend our operations and postpone appointments for several weeks at all locations. As a local, family owned business, we’ve always felt a responsibility to take care of our community. That’s why we responded swiftly to the COVID-19 crisis by implementing new protocols to ensure the safety of our patients and our staff as we reopen to care for routine visits.

We understand that maintaining your eye health is essential to your overall health. Now that we can safely reopen our offices, it’s our duty to get back to serving this community. Our offices will resume operations on May 11th As we all focus on staying healthy and well, you can count on Bard Optical to safely provide you with the vision care you need. Please call us for more information about scheduling an eye health examination.

 

How We’re Keeping You Safe

Each precaution we’re taking and every change we’re making is with your safety in mind. We also appreciate your cooperation in keeping our facilities safe for those around you. The following safety protocols will be in effect at all Bard Optical locations:

  • Our staff will be outfitted with the necessary protective gear including masks and shields at all times.
  • We will be taking steps to limit exposure by disinfecting everything patients might touch and enforcing proper social distancing procedures.
  • Fewer appointments will be scheduled per day to limit in-office traffic and to ensure sufficient time to thoroughly disinfect equipment, surfaces, and frames in between patients.

For your convenience, you can purchase contact lenses online and have them shipped directly to your home.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Although you may not be able to see our huge smiles from behind our masks, we are looking forward to seeing you!

If you are not feeling well, please call us to reschedule your appointment. For everyone’s safety, we are unable to permit anyone with a fever (higher than 99.9 degrees) or any “flu-like” symptoms to enter.

To facilitate appropriate social distancing, we must limit the number of people in our offices at any given time. We kindly ask that you come alone to your appointment. In the case of children or those needing special assistance, one additional guest will be permitted. All patients and visitors must wear masks inside in our offices. We encourage you to bring your own mask if you have access to one.

Bard Optical is here to take care of you in every sense of the word. When you arrive at our office, you will be greeted at the door and we will show you to a safe waiting space. If you need anything at all, our staff will bring it directly to you. When it’s time for your appointment, a member of our staff will escort you to an exam room. Once it’s time to select your glasses, an optician will bring a selection of frames to a freshly disinfected area for you to try on. In taking additional precautions, we’re also taking the opportunity to provide you with an unparalleled level of service!  We can’t wait to see you!
