Bard Optical Lenses and Treatments

For over 80+ years, Bard Optical has been a name you can trust for experienced eye care, and when it comes to your vision, we have a huge selection of lenses and treatments that we know can help with a range of issues. Our team will learn about your eyes and lifestyle to find the perfect option for your specific needs.

Types of Lenses & Coatings

Lenses and coatings are the crucial details to your eyewear that help match them to your own lifestyle. There are many different options, and our optical team can help identify the best for you. Learn more about our choices here:

Choosing Your Lens Style

Our lenses are the first step to tailoring your vision to match your lifestyle, with vision correction solutions for a variety of needs.

Single Vision

These lenses have one prescription power throughout the entire lens and can improve either near or distance eyesight.

Progressive Lenses

These lenses are customizable and gradually increase in power from the top of the lens to the bottom, providing clear vision over a range of distances.

High-Definition Lenses

These lenses use advanced technology to bring you incredibly crisp vision and are completely crafted to your eyes and their needs.

Materials Make the Difference

When it comes to our eyewear, we only stock the best. All our eyewear is made from the highest quality materials, and we also offer specialty lenses that can provide unique visual benefits, including:

Trivex

Thin, lightweight, and impact resistant, the Trivex is one of our favorite lenses and offers superior visual quality compared to standard polycarbonate lenses. These lenses are versatile, compatible with all frame styes, including rimless grooves and drill mounts.

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate lenses were the first lightweight, impact-resistant plastic lens on the market, and they’re still an excellent and reliable choice for your lens material. They work well in most eyeglasses, including sunglasses, kids, sports, and safety wear.

CR-39

The first type of plastic lenses, these are thicker and heavier than other plastic options, but offer incredible optical clarity.

Clear Blue Digital Lenses

As we use digital screens more than ever, our eyes are more exposed to harmful blue light rays, which can lead to digital eye strain, headaches, difficulty sleeping, and other side effects. These lenses work to filter out blue light, allowing you to comfortably use digital screens.

Treatments

We’re able to perform specialized treatments on many of our lenses to further personalize them for your needs. Options include:

Polarized Lenses

The gold standard for sunglass lenses, if your sunglasses are polarized, you’ll enjoy reduced glare while driving or spending time out in the elements. They also offer ultraviolet and blue light protection. We have frames with fixed solid and gradient colors, and adaptive lenses that can change their tint for varying brightness.

Photochromatic Lenses

Designed to appear clear when indoors, photochromatic lenses darken when exposed to sunlight, making them a terrific enhancement for your everyday eyeglasses. They provide ultraviolet and blue light protection but aren’t a true replacement for your sunglasses.

Lens Tints

This affordable option can change the tint of your sunglasses, make a cosmetic change to your regular eyeglasses, or even create a therapeutic effect.

Coatings

Finally, we can put the last personal touches on your eyewear with specialized coatings that can bring a number of benefits to your everyday life.

Anti-Reflective

This coating reduces the glare caused from light reflecting off the lens surface, which is perfect for reducing distracting glare from car headlights, computer screens, and even indoor lighting, making it easier to see clearly.

Mirror

This is a colored reflective coating designed to reduce light transmission, enhancing the function — and fashion — of your sunglasses, with multiple color options available.

Scratch

Most lenses today have scratch resistant coating already included, but we’re able to add it to any that don’t to keep your vision free from imperfections.

Da Vinci Series Lenses

We have different needs for our vision at different stages of our life. After all, a 10-year-old, a 30-year-old, and a 60-year-old all have vastly different needs from their eyesight and their lenses. Bard Optical proudly offers the Da Vinci Lens Series, a premier platform of solutions for patients of all ages.

Da Vinci Edge Lenses at Bard Optical

Da Vinci Edge

The Da Vinci Edge is a lens with a thinner, flatter cosmetic lens curve that offers patients wider fields of clear vision. It is able to provide superior visual acuity to conventional lens designs, particularly for our patients who require stronger prescriptions.

Da Vinci Apprentice Lenses at Bard Optical

Da Vinci Apprentice

Ideal for patients in the early stages of presbyopia, the Da Vinci Apprentice has a short progression length with an easily accessible part of the lens that’s ideal for reading by reducing unnecessary eye movements. You’ll see a clear, sharp distance zone, similar to single-vision glasses, with a wide reading zone.

Da Vinci Pro

These lenses offer a wide field of vision for both nearby and intermediate distances. These lenses are a superior choice for patients who work in office settings, letting you read a keyboard clearly as well as look over your desk at a computer screen or nearby coworker.

Da Vinci Driver Lenses

Designed for patients who spend more time driving, or engaged in other face-paced activities that require refocusing, the Da Vinci Drivers are the perfect choice for clear vision on the road. Wearers will experience an even larger distance area and clearer periphery from arms-lengths to distance vision.

Da Vinci Progressive Lenses at Bard Optical

Da Vinci Progressives

With the Da Vinci series of progressive lenses now available at Bard Optical, you have a wide variety of solutions based on your individual visual needs. The wider the viewing zones, the more comfortable and easier to wear it is!

Finally, our Da Vinci Classic lenses are a more traditional progressive design, with a wider viewing zone, but not as large as the Da Vinci Progressive option.
